Pat Sajak’s final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ episode has an airdate
After 43 years as host of Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak’s final episode has been scheduled. The 77-year-old, who has already recorded his last show, will make his final appearance on June 7.
Leading up to this, Wheel of Fortune will air a series of episodes titled “Thanks for the Memories” to honor Sajak.
Last summer, Sajak announced his retirement plans after the show’s 41st season. “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he said. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”
Following his announcement, Ryan Seacrest was named the new host, with Vanna White continuing her role. “I am truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years,” said Seacrest.
Many fans will miss Sajak, but there is also excitement to see how Seacrest will handle the role.
