Cameron Diaz reveals how she found ‘peace’ after ditching Hollywood for good
Cameron Diaz, known for iconic roles in films like The Mask and
Shrek, stepped away from Hollywood in 2017, but recently returned for a
new movie. Despite her immense success, Diaz chose to prioritize her
personal life, stating, “I just decided that I wanted different things
out of my life.” Married to Benji Madden, a musician, and now a mother
to daughter Raddix, Diaz emphasized the need to reclaim her time from
the demanding film industry.
Reflecting on her hiatus, Diaz admitted, “I realized I handed off
parts of my life to all these other people, and they took it.” She found
solace in authoring health books during her break. However, the allure
of reuniting with Jamie Foxx in a Netflix film titled Back in Action
proved irresistible. Diaz explained, “I took the time, I met my husband,
we got married, built our family, built our homes—all those things that
take a lot of focus.”
Yet, sources suggest this return may be short-lived. Diaz reportedly
finds the taxing work schedule challenging, preferring to be with her
daughter. A source disclosed, “Cameron loves being a mom more than
anything in the world.” With nothing left to prove in Hollywood, Diaz’s
decision to prioritize family over fame underscores her contentment
outside the spotlight.
