Gary Sinise Now Reveals A Heart-Wrenching Detail About His Son’s Sudden Death – Last Thing The Boy Did On His Deathbed Leaves Us In Tears
Gary Sinise recently shared heartbreaking details of losing his son, McCanna “Mac” Sinise, to cancer in January at age thirty-three. The Forrest Gump actor described his son’s final moments with grace, revealing Mac’s determination to finish a music record he had worked on for years. “He played through high school, and then he went to USC Thornton School of Music,” Gary said. In his last week, Mac completed the final tracks for his album, which will be available on the Gary Sinise Foundation website.
Gary recounted a poignant memory of Mac watching “Forrest Gump” on his phone in the hospital, feeling closer to his father. Despite Mac’s severe condition, he found peace knowing he had fulfilled his ambitions. Diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2018, Mac endured significant pain and tried twenty-five different drugs, showing incredible resilience.
As his illness progressed, Mac became paralyzed from the chest down. Gary shared, “I never wanted to think that we were going to lose the battle even though you know that you’re fighting uphill all the way.” Mac’s story serves to raise awareness of this terrible disease and preserve his legacy. Gary continues to struggle with his son’s absence, saying, “It’s hard to even think like that, because somehow it feels like he’s just on vacation, he’s gonna come back.”
