‘General Hospital’ Actor Johnny Wactor Passes Away at 37 — Grieving Mom Reveals Tragic Details
Johnny Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital,” tragically died in Los Angeles at 37. According to TMZ, Wactor was shot early Saturday morning while trying to stop men tampering with his car. Despite not confronting the suspects, he was shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Heartfelt tributes poured in from his “GH” family. “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” the show shared. Co-star John Lindstrom remembered Wactor as “kind, unassuming, and humble.” William DeVry expressed the “senselessness” of the loss, and TV anchor Frank Buckley shared his sadness and anger.
Born on August 31, 1986, in Charleston, South Carolina, Wactor had a prolific acting career, including roles in “Siberia” and “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage.” He also directed and wrote the music video “There to Catch Me” for The Nashvillains. His character on “GH” was written off as the first victim of Port Charles’ serial killer, “The Hook.”
Johnny’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, hopes the suspects will be found quickly. Johnny is survived by his mother and younger brothers, Lance and Grant.
